For five bucks you can get one of those little blue "telescopes" that when you look through it it multiplies the block you are looking at an you can see what a whole quilt would look like before making the whole thing. I invested in one of these years ago and use it all the time. JoAnns' sells them or you can find them on line.

If you scan down to the second item, that is the viewer. This is only one source, the first one I came across.
You can also get one of those little folding two panel mirrors that will increase the view. Another useful tool that only costs a few bucks.
Spending a little on this in the beginning will tell you right away it it is going to work as a full quilt. Good luck

I really like the first block best for a baby quilt even though the second block would be nice for an adult or teen quilt. You could call it D9P twisted. I have done the D4p with a twist & is very interesting. Your block is the same. I would continue with it.
