Okay... I have my top done and am ready to put the layers together. The woman at the my LQS told me about tying the quilt for a different look (she knows I'm a newbie so this must be easier  ) but then she said I did not have to bind it if I made it like a pillowcase. But I am afraid to do this... Wouldn't the seams on the inside really bulky? Does it look nice? I am afraid to try it and ruin my top... please give me some words of wisdom! TIA.

Also, I want to thank Feathers for sharing her tutorial for her "Purple Yellow Bunny Baby Quilt". This is the pattern I used and her instructions were so easy to follow and the pattern looks great! I will post a pic when done to her original thread.

Thanks SO much! Your quilts are beautiful!

Did you machine quilt some parts, I can't see where they are tied but that could be my eyes due to the time, long day.

I willbe very excited if I can do this method because binding is not something I think I could do or enjoy... I could not hand stitch that much without arther coming around...lol.

I did that on DGD last quilt. It had prairie points on the edges. Still didn't seem bulky around the edges. I still find it easier to spray baste and quilt and put binding on it, but to each their own.

Thank you. The Lamb wich is my Avatar is stitch in the ditch on borders tied around lamb. It is hard to see because I used embroidery thread as close to the background as I could get. The airplane is stitch in ditch on borders and outlined stitch on airplane, stars, clouds. It makes things pop out when it is done that way.

The quilts all here are also tied with yarn though,But no binding they are topstitched.
This is a fun and easy way to do it until you get ready to do the real binding.
