My friend just made a teal and brown quilt that is simply gorgeous. She used shades of teal, with dark chocolate browns. Just an idea.

Vitality, this is completely off the topic but the horse in your avatar looks very much like my GF's daughters horse.(bay paint tobiano) Especially in the facial markings. And it's here in Iowa.
    Sorry about your quilt.

One of the most fun things about working with colors is how a given color can look so different when various colors are paired with it.

i also use use the red celophane to see if a certain fabric plays well with others, and to make sure I have a good assortment of light, medium, and dark since it washes all the colors out, it shows the tones really well.

I'm getting in this one late, but I have always liked teal and fuschia together.

Her age would probably like the fushia. Would really have to see it though.

my college age daughter just made herself a teal, white, gray and chartreuse jelly roll quilt. It's outstanding, fresh and youthful.

Any chance your grandson or his mom might be able to guide you as to what the girlfriend's choice might be?
