I have accquilt baby. Works very well but which hand was the damage as you have to rotate handle. It works like the old fashioned 'mangle' in UK. It can feel heavy with either more than 4 layers or the fabric. I had a none removed from left hand which was my reason to purchase. I use it occasionally but the big disadvantage I find is the cost of dies. Have some but have stuck to curved pieces as this is still difficult to hold ruler still some days.

It is my right arm, of course, I am right handed. Only a piece of tendon left, had to put a patch in there. All done arthroscopic, thanks to a terrific Dr.! Been 5 wks and have another wk to go in this sling. I want to get back to sewing and I haven't started therapy yet.

I have the Accuquilt Go. I got it on Amazon, in the starter pack that had extra dies and mats:
http://www.amazon.com/AccuQuilt-Mix-...s=Accuquilt+go
I think it's a great thing, but to be honest I've only used the 2.5" strip die and the 6.5" square die. They did cut accurately, pun not intended, but it works...lol.
I agree that I only did 4 layers of fabrics the 2 times I used it. For me it's because I worried about breaking the machine. It did fine with the 4 layers.
For a while I've told my hubby I think I'm going to sell it because I just don't use it. I do a lot more applique than pieced quilts. He's told me to do whatever I think is best, but what if down the road I wish I'd kept it?? So for now, I've kept it.
I read where they're releasing an electric one, it's available for pre order, here's the info:
http://www.accuquilt.com/go-big-preorder
If you type in Accuquilt Go in the search bar here, you'll find plenty of information on the regular Go, Go Baby, and Go Studio.
There's also a cutter called Sizzix and I think some people cut fabric with the Cricut cutter..
Regards,
K

I preordered the Go Electric and have the regular Go and a Go Baby. My DD uses the Baby more then I do. I like the Block on Board (BOB) dies the best. Every piece you need for a particular block on one die. I can cut blocks for a queen size quilt in about half and hour. Rotary cutting is not a process I enjoy and at my age I rarely do anything I don't enjoy, not worth my time.

If I could afford it (and I can't, but maybe you can ) I would definitely buy the new electric one! If only for that awesome die that cuts 10" squares! I have the Go and I do like it and use it all the time. I have about 15 dies for it.

I have the Accuquilt GO and I love it. I basically use it for cutting strips...accurate strips! I would love the electric one but will keep using what I have. If I was going to purchase one I would check out the Brother one before I bought one. It sounds really interesting to me.

My friend has the Brother Scan and Cut. It works great for applique designs but not so great cutting fabric pieces for a block as it only cuts one layer of fabric. I cut sixty (ten cuts at six layers per cut) block pieces with my Go and she was still fussing with the one layer of fabric for the Scan and Cut. She finally got it to cut and the one flower shape was accurate. The scan and cut is great for machine embroiders but not so much for cutting block pieces.
