Accuquilt Go Cube????
Anyone have the go cubes? I want to make a Dear Jane or a Insane Quilt or something of that nature. Not sure what size blocks I really want. 6" would be nice for dear Jane, 8" is what I am considering. There is also 9" and 12". I think 12" would just be too big.
If anyone has one of these cubes, do you like it, do you use it, what size would you suggest? It is a lot of money so I really want to get the size that I would use the most.
Thanks for any input.

I don't have a cube, and I'm not sure exactly what they are, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think the cube would be much help with a DJ. The blocks are all different, and they aren't standardized in any way.

DJ are 4"squares, I believe. Original pattern is, I believe...you really need to buy the book for that one. I did buy a program from EQ that allows size changes and info on each bock for the DJ.....now that was awhile back, don't know if it's still available. I started one..doing them at 6" size....now a UFO, somewhere ........
dont know what the insane quilt is......

The program that comes with DJ allows you to change your block sizes.
You can even change them to rectangular if you wish.
You have the option of printing as line drawings for applique or PP patterns or with measurements for traditional cutting/piecing.
No additional computer program is required.

The Qube is great--I have the 12" plus the companion--but not sure you'd be able to cute out all the DJ with it. go to the Accuquilt web site and check their pattern tab--there's an Eleanor Burns book that goes with the Qube showing 72 blocks--maybe that would help you decide. I'd definitely go with a 6 or 8" max for a DJ

My blocks for the most part are done .... but I have not proceeded to the joining up stage!
Still hoping for "Jane Sings the Blues" for year end.
Maybe a little too overly optimistic on that!

Thanks to all for the great info. 4 1/2" blocks are just too small for these old eyes! I guess what I am really looking for is a sampler type of quilt using 6 or more likely 8 inch blocks. I am leaning toward civil war prints so will check out some of the civil war books. I really want something that I can cut with my accuquilt go big. Had the hand crank and loved it but my shoulders are bad so cutting/cranking is too hard for me. I figured at my age comfort was more important than eating! Hence the Big splurge!

No reason why you can't do DJ, but in the larger size.
Plus no saying that you have to do all the blocks ... just choose the ones you want to do.
As for the Accuquilt Cube .... like many of the others, I am unfamiliar as to how that may or may not work for you.
