If you need to precut, anyway, why not just use the slotted stripology ( or similar) ruler, or one of those mats with a fence and you just push the cutter mounted on it back and forth?

I can't speak for anyone else but I can no longer use my wrist for steady rotary cutting.
In fact I have my big stripology ruller up for barter on another forum and my tucker rulers.

I would suggest to only let others who have a Accuquilt know you have one. Lesson learned.

The difference between the stripology ruler and an AccuQuilt is night and day. Try one, and you'll see that there's no comparison.

I don't know anyone locally who quilts, but I can invision a smokin' machine after cutting for someone else all day I have faith in my machine and dies but the mats aren't a forever item.

I have a Stripology ruler and would toss it way before I would the Accuquilt. No comparison at all. The Stripology ruler is handy for a fast cut but I can still get a miss cut using it.
