i think for some things that doesn't matter. after all, one year after i got my new home/janome, it was no longer on the market. but i could and still can get part for it and it it's still running like new. before that i used my necchi for 35 years and it was fine, too. so, in itself, off the market shouldn't matter if the product was good to begin with. look at treadles.

well i just got a fair price on the Brother 650Q for just 799 and my local dealer wants 1300 for the QC 1000. I really dont see much of a difference.

I know there not an authorize dealer for Husqvarna. But I am pretty sure he has a store that he sells sewing machines.
