My son made mine for me and I put it side by side to a manufactured one. Mine was better,it fits my machine perfectly and I love it. The price was lovely too. lol In my area they sell for close to 200 dollars and I think with the screws and wooden legs that will screw to adjust the hieght cost my son maybe 20 or so dollars sto make.

After years of procrastinating about the cost($100)of the extension table for my machine, last week I asked my husband to make me one -- custom fit to my specs and $15 later it's wonderful!

I ordered one for my Featherweight years ago. I think I have used it twice

I have a right handed "Galant" desk from Ikea. I use it backwards and it is large enough to hold my quilts when I am doing a large one. I bought it used for $150, it's the best sewing table I have ever had and I've tried a few over the years.

I love mine. It was well worth the money. If you order, you need to give the make and model of your machine.

I have the large 24 x 24 and LOVE it. It keeps quilts flat when I machine quilt, but it also doubles your workspace as you have the acrylic surface, AND the tabletop surface underneath.

My hubby made my extension tables for both my machines, Elna & Quantam 5000 & I really don;t know what I would do without them. It really gives so much more space for quilting & even piecing. If you have to buy one it is worth the money

Yes they are worth it. They extend the flat sewing surface and the blocks, quilts don't fall over the edge. Machine quilting is much better with more flat surface. There are several companies that make them. Shop around. On the other hand if you have someone in the household who is handy with tools, a similar thing could be made of plywood with legs. I have seen the home made ones in classes and they work fine and much less expensive.
