A smaller print on the outside border would work better, and not so "fantasy" .... it should blend with what you already have as far as style of print. But yes, a larger outside border would be great on this!!

Love the colors of the butterfly fabric, but I agree with Burnsk that the print doesn't exactly "go" with the delicacy of the florals in the body of the quilt. Dig a little deeper in your stash!

Please show us what you end up with.

If you love the butterfly border--go with it! It's your quilt!

I agree the colors are great but it just doesn't go. Your quilt it just so pretty and feminine! Here is a thought if you need to use the butterfly fabric you could applique butterflies through out the quilt then that would bring continuity to the over all quilt. Then it would look pretty. I can see it in my head and I like what I see

First of all, I love your quilt :) Here's my opinion....add another border but not the butterflies (you could use that for the backing maybe :)). The second border should enhance the body of the quilt and not distract you by drawing your eye away from the quilt itself. Whatever green is in the body of the quilt would make a lovely contrast with the pink and make it "pop" a little but not overwhelm. Be sure to show us what you decide on.

Thanks for all you input. This is great!!! I only have my husband to get ideas from and he always says "whatever you think" or yeah, it's ok. I love that we can share on here and get "real" ideas and comments and critique sp? my work. Actually, I have about decided to use the pattern already in it; I will send it and see if you agree with me. It does not take away from the quilt and I think it gives it a "finished look"...let me know...it is not sewed on, just cut and laying out. anxiously awaiting your comments.

same material as in the nine patch and inside trim

I think that is the one I'd go with as it finishes it off nicely!
