Default Adding buttons to a ten minute table runner ?

Just finished another Halloween table runner and am having a hard time sewing the buttons (spiders and bats) on it. Was thinking of using some type of fabric glue to fasten them on.I don't want them to come off but this old girl's eyes just ain't what they used to be. any suggestions on what glue to use?

Are they shank buttons or flat buttons? If shank, cliip the shank off to make it flat. I use Beacon's Gem Tac to adhere crystals, ribbons, buttons. Of course, the flat bottom buttons with holes, you could use hand embroidery thread or thin yarn to sew the buttons on. wouldn't take but about 2 stitchings.
