I have two sets of the Ecolux. The price is not so expensive compared to only needing one power cord. The cord can be moved to a different machine. A few guild members bought a cheaper version, and one's DH rigged up a set of the lights. None not as nice. Just buy the good set and enjoy.

You can get separate strips for each machine, and just use 1 cord if you get the adapter. I think it was $5 when I bought mine, but that was before the "sewing machine kit" that they sell now. It may be included.

No, it came with sticky back clips to hold them out of the way. The lights themselves are also very low profile. Here are some pics of the lights and the wiring.

Thanks for sharing all these resources. I recently was searching for similar lighting on Amazon but didn't have success.

The Ecolux wiring is white. I know that doesn't improve the lighting but it makes a difference to me what I have to look at.

I got some some as a gift from my quilting buddy. They are wonderful although expensive. My only problem is mine became dislodged after quilting several Queen/king size quilts. Emailed the company to see what they used to attach. No reply. I bought double stick tape but they are still not attached as well as when they were new. If able, buy 5-6 lights verses the shorter strip.

Try the Bendable LED light. Sells for $49.95 but can be found for less. Got 2 for $24.95 a light on internet several yrs ago. Easy to attach to machine. Worth every penny

I used Command strips refills instead of the original adhesive. I wanted to be sure I could take the strip off without any residue. Be sure and clean the area with alcohol first. It will remove any film so the adhesive will hold better.

katier825, thanks so much for posting this link so I can see how it's actually installed and works. I know that will be on my wish list.

It looks brighter under the throat, but not under the foot plate?
