Adhesive Sprays: Can I Use Them?

My SIL works in construction, and I saw this film in his garage. He said they use it to put on the windows when they do the stucco and painting on the houses. I took a piece home and it worked great. I paid 45.00 for it which sounds like a lot but it comes on a roll 22 inches wide 500 yards long. I will never have to buy it again and I have done hundreds and hundreds of embroidery designs. I had my son cut it into two pieces. One size for my 4 x 4 and the other for the larger hoop. At Joann's the sticky back was 27.00 for a little roll. I could never afford to pay that much for the amount I needed.

IF I HAD a husband, I would of told him what brand I preferred. I wouldn't have trusted the employees at any chain store to steer him to the correct product. The last time I bought spray adhesive was a long time ago. I have read on some posts how the cost of Sullivan's has increase.

I don't think I would use them!! I agree, return them and purchase the proper type of basting spray. Perhaps the clerk at the fabric shop does not know the difference.... My thoughts, better to be safe than sorry...that could end up costing a great deal of $$$ to repair your machine. JMHO

sticky back
[QUOTE=calla;6884019]Threadhead, tell me more about that sticky back window film..........thanks]
calla, here is a picture of the film. You can see I have used more of the smaller roll 4 x 4.
The film is sitting on my neck wraps I am making. They are filled with rice. Throw them in the Microwave for a minute and they work like a heating pad. Or freezer if you need it.

Jo Ann's does carry a "Quilt Basting Spray" from June Taylor that is about $12.99 a container. I use my 40% off coupon to purchase it or buy it when they have 40% off the sewing notions. The only place I can find it in the store is in the notions where they have the Fons and Porter, all pins and hoops etc for quilting. I can usually get three large quilts completed using this. Spray lightly and then I do put large safety pins about 12 inches apart on the quilt sandwich. Hope this helps.
