    Instead of drawing lines, I press my squares in half diagonally. Sometimes finger pressing is enough, depening on the thickness of the fabric. Then sew 1/4" down each side of the crease. Saves a lot of time.

    Use 7” then trim the blocks to the correct size after stitching/ pressing

    I also use the Bloc Loc ruler...wouldn't make half square blocks without it.

    I find it much easier to make the blocks oversize and then trim to the desired size. Might use more fabric but worth it to me.

    I do not do it this way. I am MUCH more accurate if I cut the triangles first (Yes, oversized) and then sew a 1'4'
    seam. I need to have a seam guide next to the presser foot in order to sew straight. Then I iron and trim. Different strokes for different folks. It seems most gals do the square method, but it's not for me.
