Advice on putting together these crazy quilt blocks for quilt...

I agree with Jeanne S. Either way, the quilt will be beautiful.

One question I have for the people who vote no sashing, is how do the blocks not run together and look all, well...crazy?? Lol.. I mean crazy as in unattractive crazy.
I know some crazy quilts actually appear to be one large block. As they have angles all through out... But in my case, as my squares are symmetrically square, wouldn't it look "odd"?

BTW: You're blocks are beautiful!

I like a dark color because the floor/wall/whatever you have them laid out on gives an idea of how medium sashing would look and IMO a darker color would make the blocks stand out more. However I also like the idea of no sashing.

traditipn would have very dk red, very dark green or black velvet or moire. these were Victorian so most things were quite dark. hope you are planning to hand quilt. it's tough dancing around embellishments by machine. it looks lovely, and your love shines through! YAY for mom and you!!

Thank you all for your suggestions, and your compliments.
I will be hand quilting, hand tying, or a qayg method. As I don't think machine quilting would work with all of the embellishments. As far as the sashing/no sashing, I'm still undecided. Agree that darker will be best if I sash. So I've put sashing off for now, and I'm concentrating on finishing the embellishments.
As far as the fabrics in the blocks, I took a class on Brazilian embroidery, and they offered a kit each month.
So about half of them I didn't have any say in the fabrics. The other half my friend who owns the lqs told a few of us to choose what we wanted, So we did! It's awesome having a friend who owns a quilt shop .
Thanks again,
K

I also like to see a crazy quilt with all the blocks together, no sashing. You could do a light pink border or a pink and brown border (I think there was a line of fabrics that had pinks and browns together).
