I put them together with a 1" wide sashing in a rich chocolate brown blender.
I still need to finish the embellishments on 2 of the blocks, but Mom saw it today and she was thrilled.
Thanks so much to all of you!

P.S. I will post a pic when I get it completely finished, hopefully in the next couple of weeks!

I am loving these blocks! I have longed to do one but lack whatever it is I need to do it how I'd like it. I've seen patterns(s) ? To do it, but then every block looks has the same "look", and that's not for me. I love how no two blocks of your are the same pre-stitching. I'm looking forward to seeing the other blocks and what you've chosen to do with them all!

I agree with this opinion. I had thought of perhaps a maroon or wine colored border for the same reason as stated. The blocks are beautiful!

If you want to add sashing of course you can, its yours, but traditional crazy quilts all run together. Sometimes a solid border (embellished or not) is added to increase the size.
Your blocks are lovely! What a great project/ gift for your mom!

The original post was back in august...is there a pic on board of finished crazy? I've done two...not as elaborately embellished or deco stitched...one was a Christmas fab scraps...good way to thin out that box of fab.....and a quick, no brainer holiday quilt was born.....I think I would like to try one with fancy over stitches and lace like trimmings...hmmmmm
