    Default Advice on quilting this?

I'm a new quilter. This is my 3rd full quilt, and I've done a number of mini ones. All have been free motion quilted. I'd call myself a decent beginner with free motion. I have pieced this for my mother for Christmas, but I don't know how to quilt it. I want to highlight the diamond shapes, but I don't like the idea of just rows and straight lines. Thoughts?

I always try to think of what will enhance the piecing. Good Luck.

I would SITD along the diamond shape design first to anchor the quilt. The design looks spaced about 10 inches apart and then I would put a different FMQ design in each round. Lovely top!

I would go with an all over design with lots of curves. Straight lines would make it a bit regimented, I would think.

Looks like this is the first time you've posted. Welcome to the Board from NJ, and love your quilt.

First Welcome to the board! I would do curves. Love this design. Where did you get the pattern?

Stunning quilt top! I'm not sure yet about the dark brown, but for the blue triangles I would do Leah Day's "Wiggly Pasta" & for the orange sashing I'd SITD & then add 1-2 straight lines down the center of each sashing piece. I'd probably just SITD around the tiny red-orange triangles.

Maybe echo quilt into the dark brown shapes???

WOW, what a beauty. I would also love to know the name of this quilt.
