    Question Advise Please

I was wondering if anyone can give me help with the accu-quilt go.
Do you start with a yard of fabric? How to lay out your fabric?

I need a lot of help, all advice would deeply be appreciated.

Thank you all for your input.

I usually use fat quarters, or a chunk of fabric. You could use a larger piece too. The excess hanging off will just roll through with the rest of it. I also usually only do 2 or 4 layers at a time.

When I saw it demonstrated at a guild meeting, the instructor just used strips about 1-2 inches wider than the die cut to minimize wasted fabric.

Usually I pre-cut my yardage into chunks that I feed into the die cutter.

You really should watch a video to get a better idea of how it works.

Depending on the weight of the fabric you are using, you can cut up to 6 layers of fabric at a time. Before I cut my fabric, I decide the design I will be making, how many pieces I will need of each of the die pattern pieces and the size of the actual piece that is being cut from the die design. Until you have more experience in cutting your pieces, use a scrap piece of fabric and actually make a cut so you can judge the size of the fabric piece you will need to use. You can also determine this by laying a piece of fabric over the actual die pattern to see the size of fabric you will need to make the cut for that design. Once you have made a few practice cuts, you will know how to gauge the size of the fabric you need. If you need the same cut in several different colors, just layer your colors and run up to 6 layers through your Go cutter. Just remember, the number of layers that can be cut at a time is determined by the weight of the fabric. Do not try to force to many layers through your cutter as doing so will cause it to break.

I hope this has been helpful to you. You can also contact the AccuQuilt call center for assistance. They are really a great bunch to work with.

Thank you all for helping me understanding the Go better. I was very confused, I used to be a little smart but, that left me a long time ago.

Thank you so much, I am going to take the GO out in the morning and practice. I never thought I was going to get any responses.

I have been wondering how this Accuquilt Go works. I have a better understanding of it now. I only heard of it about a week ago. Thanks for asking how it works!
