Wonderful, wonderful - it finally happened and turned out better that we could even hope for. Guess all those prayers really helped. I am SO happy for you. Wish I was there to share your joy and the new friendships you've made. We are all awaiting pics and future posts.

    You go, girl!

Please share, Mother's Day is of course on Sunday. Did your quilt group share Mother's Day?

I have had some experience in developing groups. you will be amazed with the women. Some are sotalented. You may be the first to reveal their creativity to them. Many will have no self confidence in trying something new. Start with comon interests: children, families. Let them know you are a woman like them. Speech, culture, education, clothes can be barriers. Remove these barriers and they will soon all be friends...including you. ( do not remove clothing, as that would be too revealing!!)haha

One group I led took up quilting. I observed two ladies who differed in education, race, country of origin and age. Yet they sat together working on their creations and happily visiting about home and children.

God bless..we will help in any way we can.

I love Goldie's comment ... "you're stitching a way to understanding." What a wonderful idea. If we can send you fabric or supplies, please let us know. I would just sit back and let it happen. You are wise to try to learn about the culture so that you don't make innocent mistakes that might offend. I can't wait to hear how it works out. God Bless You.

    Marty K,
The women are part of a group that runs an all women's bazaar. They use part of the proceeds to hire lawyers for women in jail on trumped up charges. All a man has to say is his wife has committed adultery and she gets an automatic 3-7 years in jail with all her children. Some of the girls are very young and they are in jail becasue they fell in love with a boy their age but a man 40-60+ years old wants to marry them and they run away. They are charged with having sex before marriage and any other crime under the sun. A 7 year sentence easily. PM me privately and I will let you know the details if you want to purchase something. I will have pictures of what is on sell this weekend.
