Because of it being a little heavy why not substitute flannel for the batting then you can quilt farther apart.

Beautiful top! I love the Minky fabrics you chose. Great job!

My thoughts too. I made a king sized tee shirt quilt with Minky backing, Hobbs 80/20 batting and it weighs a TON. I wish I had left out the batting or used flannel instead.

For batting I would do either Quilter's Dream Request or flannel. You might check Back Side Fabrics & see if they have a wide back in flannel.

Thanks for all the great advice, I will keep you posted on the progress, today I'm rolling it onto my grace frame, hopefully it doesn't fall over on me with the weight! Hahaha

Here"s an update: I decided on a lightweight poly/cotton batting, it was actually less weight than the flannel. I got it loaded on my quilt frame and I'm happy to report it is holding up and hasn't toppled over on me! Hahaha
I'm hoping to get it quilted by this evening using just large meandering to keep it looser and softer, just enough stitching to hold it together. So off to quilting I go! Thanks again for all the great advice

Thanks for letting us know how you decided to go with this beautiful quilt! Of course, we will still want a picture when completed!
