You can adjust the size to fit the project. You can also download free fonts that will work in Word.

If you don't have Word - Google Docs (which is a free online program) will do the same thing.
That's the recommendation in the craftsy class too for the applique letters.

I have found some of my best patterns in very basic children's coloring books. The pictures, letters and numbers are usually a very basic shape and a good size. I trace them and find I do not have to make many changes at all to make them work. The cheaper and simpler book the better!

I bought alphabet stencils I can use to make applique, embroider, even trace to quilt. I think I paid a couple dollars at JoAnns for them.

Look at cross stitch books. They often have alphabets in them or calligraphy books.

I just trace the letter onto Heat & Bond then press onto the back of the fabric then cut the letters out. Made this quilt for my best friend for Xmas.
Thank you for the link. I've also been looking for letters for a quilt. This site has lots of choices.

I found the book Fat Quarter Fonts at a yard sale Saturday! I made a sample letter block using a heart shape instead of a letter. The book has a cd in it for the letters. I like the method using two pieces of fabric and sewing around the shape. Very fast and easy to do. It looked great. I put a backing on it, quilted it and had a nice Valentine mug rug for my DD.

Love your quilt! I've added this site to my "favorites" list on my computer. Thanks for sharing. I want to try this.

I also use Microsoft Word for all of my lettering. There are tons of free fonts out there, they can be printed in reverse and in any size needed!
