Alternative Fabric Choices
#1
Before I had 5 back surgeries and had to go on disability, I was an xray tech for a lot of years. It is very demanding physical work and one of my gifts to myself was to always have nice cotton (breathable) scrub tops. I have a box of lovely all cotton tops Iam considering using with some solids to make a quilt. A kind of memory quilt of my past life if you will. Has anyone ever used this type of fabric dfor a quilt? TIA ladies!!

I think that would be wonderful. You could do something w/stars and use each of the tops for a different star. Cut strips with what's left and put together 'piano' border. It would be so full of memories each time you snuggled under it. And think of the saving for fabric $$, lol.

You could do a sampler quilt with block representing different aspects you'd want to remember. If you do a sampler with boarders around each you could cut the sashing strips first (mark and set aside) and fussy cut the blocks. Or if you have so many that you have more than enough cut sashing strips from some and blocks from others. And if you have enough you could do the backing with something like rail fence, 4 patch or 9 patch blocks.
