Mom didn't use anything in the middle of my doll quilt - just the top and backing - so it draped beautifully. I almost loved it to death - BUT I still have it. She claimed that she hated quilting, and it was the only quilt she ever made, but it was perfect! It's in CT and I'm in AZ, so I can't post a picture.

So for clarification you use the foil to wrap the fabric pieces in, but don't use the foil in with or as batting? If that's the case then that would make sense as the pieces are small and you would want to protect the edges.

Ever seen foil after it has been in contact with something acidic like tomato sauce? Imagine what it would do in hard water! It is a Terrible idea! Maybe for some odd dollhouse display in a case, but certainly not archival!

[QUOTE=tapper;6495482]I found this nut doesn't give much info. Read through the posts.
Oh, my, I am still laughing!! I was so curious that I had to go read the thread to discover who the "nut" was!! My enjoyment for the day!

I went back and read the other post, and the foil is to make the quilt conform to the doll like our blankets do to us.

PS.
I HAVE USED, the foil found in first aid box space blanket when paper piecing scissors. They have been washed and bag carried round a great deal with no rips tips or cuts. It does look like foil but works very much like a fabric.
