For some unknown reason, I let my friends talk me into joining a Dear Jane club. I really need to have my head examined. The up side is that I don't really need to buy fabric as I have a ton of Civil War prints and 8 yards of aged muslin. Plus I get to spend time with good quilting friends who always bring something good to snack on.

Good for you! It's on my bucket list. I may just start now and do a block whenever I get bored with other stuff. I've got tons of beige on beige tonals to use along with other "scraps".

Sounds like a win win to me if you don't like the quilt when it is finished you can always donate it.

I started a Dear Jane several months ago and am up to 2.5 blocks. :-) I may finish it in this lifetime, then again maybe someone else will inherit all the CW fabric and bolt of muslin I have. But it's fun to be on the DJ mailing list and hear about everyone's successes with the quilt. And then there's your fun of being with friends. I think that's why mine is going so slowly, no one to quilt with on it.

Fun get togethers, no money spent and you can make as many or as few as you want.

I bought Dear Jane and downloaded into my computer. Why do I spend so much on things I will never get around to doing?
Just bought a used copy of Slyvias Wedding Quilt because the blocks are 6 in not 4 but found it requires lots of paper piecing even on blocks that would be simple to piece.
I do not like paper piecing at all, waste of fabric and paper. Some blocks have to be paper pieced but why ones that dont need it?

go for it!!! I am having a hard time sticking to it -- so many other things to do -- I will have to cut out the pieces and sew in the evenings.

I have 2 quilts I am hand quilting right now so things get put on the back burner and take turns -- LOL
