I totally understand!!! But what I'm doing is taking a picture and printing it out to be saved in a three-ring binder. That way I can always look back. Simple IPhone shot and printed to plain paper. Nice memories of hard work being loved elsewhere.

Your feelings are very 'normal'. We have all been in this place. It is apparent that you are hooked on being a quilter. I recommend that you not only take a picture for us to see but that you start an album of your work-for you. You can include the finished quilts and what you do with them; or, you can take lots of pictures along the process of making the quilt and make it into a visual journal. I love to give quilts away! My son and daughter-in-law have the first quilt I made hanging on their guest room (office)wall. It was made 47 years ago for that son. I smile every time I see it-it shows me how much I have learned along the way. Please enjoy giving your Kylie gift.

Start a notebook NOW which contains pictures, a bit of the fabrics, who it was for, etc., so down the road you can reminisce about your "Children." How I wish I had done this!

No you are not cuckoo. I have a hard time parting with all of my quilts. They are like my babies, I totally understand. I have some that I have made for donation from fabric that was given to me that I have a hard time giving away. Even some of the quilts I don't particularly like.
Start a photo album and keep a picture of all of your quilts. You will be amazed at the progression of your skills and how your choice of colors and fabrics change as you go along. The fabric that I bought when I first started I now consider to be my "ugly" fabric. We all totally understand.

Congratulations. I share your excitement and your satisfaction. It gets better...the joy you will experience when you see Kylie using it.

I too would like to see your first quilt and Kylie! My DSL keeps pictures of all of her quilts....to remember and to see what she should change as she developed as a quilter.

Before you deliver it to your sweet granddaugher, take a picture and post it where you can see it every time you sew.

Just a suggestion, could you make a miniature quilt like the one you made for baby and frame it or hang it as a wall hanging? That way you see it all the time.

After spending so much time on our quilts, it's normal for some of them to become very special to us and hard to see go, you are not alone, however, you get to go visit your new DGD and her quilt frequently. I don't know if this is your first grandchild or not, but holding that little wonder in your arms is a life changing moment to be cherished.
