Congrats on the new grandchild and first quilt!

As far as attachments to the quilt, I have some like that. There are some that I have a greater attachment to than others. It is interesting - sometimes it's the fabric, sometimes the pattern, and sometimes it's both.

You are never "coo-coo" when quilting is done,\.

    A very nice thread
Yup, like everyone else, had that anxiety about letting go of the creation I had been pouring my heart into.
I just LOVE the idea of making a "mini-me" quilt!
I am going to do some of this from now on!
    Just love that idea

You are only as coo-coo as the rest of us. LOL. You are in the great company of other quilters. As someone else said, you have the bug; take photos and then you can always visit your quilts.
I have made over 100 and have yet to keep one for myself, but I have photos of all of them and love to look thru them and remember all the wonderful times I had making them and all the people I have touched in gifting them.

Many of us suffer from separation anxiety when we give away a quilt. I like to placed my finished project over the armchair in my living room so I can admire it before it leaves.
