Am I just a little bit 'cuckoo'?

Am I just a little bit 'cuckoo'?
I am over the moon! My first ever quilt is finished. It is for my new granddaughter Kylie, who is 8 weeks old and I cannot wait to deliver it to my daughter who does not even what colour it is as she wanted to be surprised. I have loved every minute of making it and already have at least three more quilts planned for the immediate future.
The cuckoo part? Although I am so excited to deliver the quilt this afternoon, I am feeling like a mother sending her child off to college!! This quilt has been the first thing I see every time I go into my sewing room for 3 months now and I'm feeling very apprehensive about seeing it go. The one positive is that my daughter lives 5 minutes down the road so every time I visit her and my grandchildren, I get to 'visit' my (Kylie's) quilt too!

no, not cuckoo. i also find it very hard to let my creations go... even the ones made specifically for charity... meant to be gone. just take lots of pictures and maybe even frame one to display in your sewing room

This is quite common for me. I'm just finishing up a Jean quilt that has taken me forever to finish. Hoping to see a picture soon. One day down the road you will wonder why you felt this way. Ask me how I know.
