Am I the only idiot who......?

I stapled my finger once when I was a kid. I was at my Mom's work and when I screamed, she grabbed that old fashioned claw staple remover and yanked it out, like it was nothing. I still have the spot I can see through my finger nail to this day.
Are you ok? That had to hurt alot.

You are definitely not the only one!!!! I did it and broke the needle off in my finger (I was couching a cord on my project and meandering away).
I had to pull the needle through with the thread attached...gives me shivers remembering.
Hope you are feeling better, I'm actually recovering from another quilting mishap involving a rotary cutter...in order not to traumatize anyone, I won't go into details but my daughter made a wonderful post on my blog about the whole event. ( www.quiltingunderthemidnightsun.blogspot.com just scroll down to about a week ago)

Nope, you're not the only one that's done that. I did the same exact thing for the same reason, glaced up to look at something on t.v.
Everything has warnings on them. Maybe they should put a warning on sewing machines.
WARNING: Do not watch television while sewing.
Just joking. But I do know how it hurt!

You poor thing. My eyes are watering and my stomach turned over reading this. One of the reasons I am afraid of FMQ. I am so accident prone I just know I will do something like that. I hope your finger recovers quickly and the memory of the pain fades. It's bad enough when the sewing needle goes under the nail bed. Aaaagh!!!

Last year I sewed through my finger and fractured the bone, still have a piece of needle in my finger. You should have that looked at, puncture wounds are very dangerous and the nurse who extracted the needle from my finger told me of a quilter who lost her finger because she did not have a similar wound cared for properly.
