I learned a painful lesson....PAY ATTENTION WHEN USING THE SEWING MACHINE!!!!. I looked away to glance at the TV and sewed right through my finger. So there I was, stuck to the machine and hurting somethin' awful. The only way I could get free was to backstitch. I still had the thread going through the nail and out the other side of my finger. So I pulled it out, then it started bleeding. Thank God it did not hit the bone or I would have needed help it get free. At least it was a clean wound. Now it is just numb, after two days.

Ouch, that would really hurt!!! I haven't sewn my fingers but have come close to it. My Juki, especaially, seems to be very strong so I know it could happen. I think I wouldhave passed out. I do hope you heal fast without any complications.

Years ago - I worked with an industrial sewing machine - sewed my finger - only did it once :-))

Take care and watch for infection - you may lose the nail but it will grow back...

you might want to look into getting a tetnus shot if you haven't had one in a few years. At least ask your doctor.

    Ouuuuuuuuch!

That's not being an idiot - that's just normal human stuff. I've sewn my finger twice - once when I was really young and once a few years ago when I was learning to quilt.

I feel for you - I'm glad it's only numb now. Hope that's the last time it happens.
