I use painter's tape to mark my quarter inch on the bed of my machine. Double insurance with my quarter inch foot.

I use the blue painters tape on my rulers, and when I go to class I mark all my cords, notions etc with fuschia colored duct tape. I can spot it easily, and it does not interfere with anything.

I use the neon. It works great, but besure it's on the underside of the ruler. It shows up better.

It's easy to remember which side if you tear the piece of tape down the middle lengthwise and only use the straight edge for reference! :)
