I have tons of patterns but only use them for inspiration. For me, it's like following a recipe...I always do something to "tweak" it for my taste. Sometimes a pattern will spark my creativity and what I create looks nothing like the pattern that inspired me!

I can't sew anything without a pattern. Brain challenged? I don't know about that. I just like to get it right the first time.

Ditto for me too! I have never had the confidence to try someting without a pattern-but then when there are so many available, -----

I have used a couple of patterns, but usually I see a picture of a design I like and make up the directions myself. Probably easier to use a pattern at times but I like the creativity of not using a pattern.

Very rarely do I use a pattern. Yes when I do paper piecing, but all other times it is just visualize, cut and sew.

As my husband has always said, I do not read directions well!!!

Patterns are just a guide. I use EQ6, patterns & books as my guide. I write all over them, drawing, making notes, doing math for my changes, etc. I don't dare loan out any of them. No one would understand all my writings.
