Thanks for the tip. I thought a thread cutter would be so handy and I've been frustrated and hardly use it any more. I'll try your suggestions. :-)

Can't make mine work either on any of my three machines. I hate it!

Hulahoop1 If you mean that you bent the little wire, I have done that also and I just very very carefully bent it back so that it would go through the eye of my needle. It you don't work carefully it could break off. Hope this will help you.
Yep, that's what I did! I tried but was afraid I'd break it, too. Will just have to try with tiny tweezers and BIG magnifying glass and lots of patience, I guess. Thanks for your advice.

I have a Janome and use both Singer and Schmetz needles and it works fine (the second threader, anyway -- the first one I broke within the warranty period by lowering needle while threader was down. Learning it would cost $90 to do that again inspired me to read the instructions).

hmmmmmmmmm, don't know what makes the difference, but I love mine......I also had one on my long-arm, but it broke off the first time I tried to use it. Now I use those long very thin threaders and can be threaded thru the needles and pulled out the other side.......they are great until I can't find one. You need good eyes to see them so they can disappear...

You are not quite alone in the minority. I have an auto threader on mine and would not be without it. With my eyes I could not thread my machine without it. I'll never own another machine without one.

When I got my new machine I could not get it right either. I thought it was me. I always do it myself. It works for me and of course much faster than trying to spend time on an episode of futility.
