Sweetie, you're not defective, you're just like the rest of us - that's why they invented the quarter-inch foot to guide us.

OMG, I just had cateract surgery on one eye a couple of days ago (second due in a couple of weeks) - Does this mean that I'll soon discover that all my stitches have been inferior and defective. Will I soon be begging for my cateracts back LOL

I line up with my pressure foot, if I didn't I would not get a straight line

Count me in. That's the reason why I like to press the seam to oneside, so if I find half of the seam not exactly 1/4, I can sew over it, rip it out, start again, or whatever. I have tried pressing them open, & then I had to go back to the ironing board, and instead of pressing once, I had to press BOTH sides back so I can rip. Argh! Don't tell the quilt police, please.

If I sew long strips I start to go cross-eyed.

I thought I was "defective" too! Then I started to piece with my Grandmother's old Singer (from '63) The stitch is so perfect and straight that I have become addicted to quilting. No even feed foot, but adjusting the pressure lets me SID on even med-thick quilts!

I can't sew a straight line either. Luckily, quilting covers a lot of my little inconsistencies.

I should join that "Crooked Line Club" too. The 1/4 " foot helps some, but.........human, we are !! We're not supposed to b perfect, are we?
