Sorry, but I'll have to join the defective group too. Those darn lines have a mind of their own!

I thought it was just me and I had lost all my sewing skills from not sewing much the last 6-7 years. thought with a bit of practice it would all come back!!!! It's not coming back, my seams are still wobbly, and my cutting, and even placing the pattern on the fabric....... But I do have fun!!!! and some things are even acceptable.

Some days I just feel like the harder I try the more crooked straight lines get and a new sewing machine didn't help. When i want to be as persise as possible I set my machines speed to slow. It helps

I have Husqvarna SE and love my 1/4 foot with guide...Can't live without it...until I bought a 301 and 301A and they have the 1/4 mark on plate and I'm amazed how straight that line is with no help from me....

Huh, I just thought I was "crooked". I've been sewing since about 12 and no matter what I do, I can't sew a straight seam. I've tried every tip I've read. :(

I would be lost without my 1/4" foot with the blade on the side.

Take away my pencil and my 1/4 inch guide and I become a gibbering mess!

Hello. My name is Jane & I can't sew a straight line! Sounds like we are all admitting to a problem that requires a 12 step program.

Anyway, I have two tips. If you are veering off at the end of a seam, you can try using a stiletto to guide the last little bit of fabric under the needle. I use the tip of my seam ripper. Oh, and I can still veer off the quarter inch even then!

The other tip is too not look at the fabric going under your needle as you sew. Look in front of the needle. Hope that makes sense.
