I got a bow tux purse and just love it. All I can say is your family is spoiled and you have a great heart. Some people don't care how much work goes into it. To me anyone of them didn't deserve a present at all and next year I wouldn't give them anything.

I think it's time to get new bumper stickers printed up:

    I (heart) Hand Made

Let's keep showing off our totes and wearables - use them when we go shopping so the world can see our unique items. Bring those quilts to the beach, the Founder's Day Parade, the Fourth of July celebration, a football game, anywhere we can show them off.

And if it bothers you to give something that might not be appreciated, put a card in that reads "This item may be re-gifted to someone who can't live without it - even to a charity". And then forget about it, because your creation is out in the world now.

A revolution can begin with small actions...

I like your thinking. Regifting. Someone would love it. I often think about how everyone ohs and ahs about the Vera Bradley bags. Give me a homemade one anytime instead of a Vera Bradley. They are way overpriced for what they are.

Sad how some relatives/friends react to something you have made. I no longer go out of my way to make these people gifts. If you want something, buy me the fabric and get me the pattern. I also charge these relatives/friends. Its amazing how little sewing I do for them now!

So sorry to hear your gifts weren't appreciated, but who is to say they would have even been happy with something you bought. Personally, I would just skip getting them a gift all together-they probably have enough stuff as it is.

I am sorry this happened to you, I understand how you feel. I am to the point of not doing anything for my one granddaughter, who for 6 years of her life she was the princess and got whatever she wanted. Now she is NOT appreciative of what she gets at 12. I hope it turns around for both of us. Sandi

I wish they could know how much work and love went into them.

I know how you feel. I knitted a baby quilt for a SIL one year. She opened the box and said "what ... no money?". Yeah - can you believe that!! Thankfully she's not in my life anymore. Ungrateful ... person.
