Default In Amsterdam and saw quilt shop

We only have a little time but I think it is walkable from our hotel - all I could see from the car was Quilt Shop.

We are at the Klimpton Dewitt Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 51012 RC Amsterdam
    Netherlands

if anyone is from here or knows if it is worth trying to get there? Thanks

If it's Birdblocks, there reviews online in yelp. Just google " quilt shops in Amsterdam" and you will see the " yellow pages" that has both a map plus photos of interior and exterior of shop.

Yes, worth a stop. There are two shops side by side. One has Dutch Reproductions and Aboriginal prints from OZ. The other brighter fabrics like Tula Pink, novelty fabrics.

I shopped in both in 2017. They speak English in both shops too.

Birdblocks is .5 k (.3 mi) down the street, so an easy walk. The concierge can draw you a map. Everyone in the Netherlands speaks English.

Went to Dutch quilts. Very lovely. Got a small wall hanging kit with tiny windmill panel for center and with traditional fabrics. Shop next door wasn’t open although we were there during their open hours. It was dark. I tapped on the door. But still closed. Thanks for everyone’s help. Glad I went.

Too bad they were not open nextdoor.

It took me a while when I was in Florence to get used to shops closing for a couple hours in the afternoon.

Years ago my ex was in Amsterdam, there is a lingerie sewing supply shop in the city. I sent him looking for bra making kits for me. He got there, just before their lunch break. They told him, it is lunch time we will be back in 30 minutes and left him alone in the shop. When they returned he bought me 3 kits.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Funny story! This was 11 am on a Saturday. Sign said their hours on Saturday were 11-5. We waited til 11:15 but I already had my prize. We are on the Viking Boat now heading up the Rhine later this evening. Maybe some other prize awaits me
