While at Joann's today, I started up a conversation with the gal cutting, and the gal ahead of me. (Her fabric being cut). I mentioned that several Joann stores give a % off if there is only a small amt left on the bolt after what the customer wants....and does this Joann's do that? This gal talked herself around in circles so much, that I figured she didnt' really know the answer. She did end up giving 75% off on a couple of end-cuts for that customer. (She thanked me when we got to the till). I suspect she would not have done so had I not started that conversation. Oh, and I came home with about $79. of fabric and notions....saved about $24.

I went into Joann's on the 26th and walked over to the red tagged section. Everything was 50% off after the already reduced prices.
I ended up getting a 1.2 yards of VIP fabric for $2.25.
Wish I had some extra cash. I'd have done some damage! haha

Speaking of end of bolt discounts, I went into Wal-Mart the other day to get 3 yards each of a couple of fabrics I wanted. When she measured out the first one, there was only 3.5 yards on it. So she just threw in the extra 1/2 yard for free. :D Then she measured out the second one and it had 3.75 yards on it, so she threw in the extra 3/4 yards for free. I like that kind of discount! :D

We don't have a joann's here, but hancocks is just as bad. The girls don't seem to know very much.

I will have to remember the end of bolt discount next time I go to Joanns.

If you are a member of AQS )American Quilters Society, they have EQ6 for about $119. That's where hubby got mine.

I only get end-of-bolt discounts when I ask ... which is wrong, wrong, wrong ... I shouldn't have to ask! Furthermore, most of my coupons end up in my trash because invariably the fabric is all marked down (a bit) during the same dates the coupons are valid. Since I already have quite a large supply of rotary cutter blades and machine needles, etc., unless I can find someone to give my coupons to, they are a waste of paper.

I get lucky sometimes at the Red Tag table; sometimes they have some of their most expensive, highest quality 100% cotton there and if I have a 10, 15 or 20% off total purchase coupon and also an end-of-bolt discount, I walk out of there feeling lucky and patting myself on the back.

For those of you who do machine embroidery or anything that requires stabilizers, those coupons are good for buying stabilizer. (I buy the whole bolt.)
