Sorry about them closing shop on you like they did. I personally like to "see and touch" the fabric I buy.

I have shopped a couple of times on-line but prefer to go to a store. I want to see the colors and feel the fabric. You can't get that on-line.
Fortunately there are 2 great stores near me.
I agree, losing 2 stores is a BUMMER.

I am so lucky. There are about 10 quilt shops within 20 miles of my house--and I live in the country. On an 8 mile stretch of high-way there are about 8 shops with just a small jog off the high-way. I try to support the shop close to my house, as that is the shop that I like to take classes at. All of the shops that I have been to carry different styles of fabric and different books. A friend of mine and I plan to take a day and go to all of the shops, but not with winter weather. I also have a JoAnn's with-in 15 miles and my Wal-Mart carries fabric. How lucky can you get!!!

This is so sad. We have a fantastic LQS approx 45 minutes from me. However, EVERYTHING is outrageously expensive. The fabrics are beautiful to be sure and the shop is better than ...., but I just can't afford to pay double the prices for notions and tools, etc than I pay at Joann's and other places. I would so love to support the LQS more, but if they didn't try to double the prices on everything, they would certainly sell so much more. Not everyone can afford $9-$12/yrd for materials AND double prices for all the other items needed. I am so glad there are those quilters who can buy pretty much what they want, but so many are on more restrictive budgets. I do wish the LWQ all the success in the world, but just can't afford to go more than I do.

Does anyone know a website I can go to for a free Bargello pattern? It's not for a customer. The more I look at them the more I want one for myself.
