Too bad. If that would have worked, I might have considered ceramic. Maybe you could at least measure with the rulers.

Yes. I used a utility knife. This did make it go much easier didn't it.

I did put 1 scratch across my ruler, but that is ok 'cause I did it...If Dh or youngest DSon had done it I'd have been mad.

That is great! When my DH first saw the tools of the quilting trade, he started thinking how great it would be for cutting gaskets, etc. I got him his own set so he wouldn't wander into my quilting room & "borrow" my good stuff!! I have an interesting story about my turkey baster, but that's for another day!

Does a great job when you're trying to fit laminate flooring too. Just redid all 4 bedrooms in my house.

And if the floor/wall meet isn't as square as it should be, the ruler will tell you how much it's off and let you replicate the "off-ness" on the next tile. Oh, good show!!!!! Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!

    I bow to the expert.

    Thanks,

    Pat

Hope you now know that utility knife cuts are FAR less apt to self seal (if at all) than rotary cutter cuts. Next time use the BACK of your mat. Same goes for the fancy edge rotary blades...use the back of the mat. Voice of experience on both.

Good ta know for next time! Thanks!
If my mat doesn't clean up it is ok 'cause: (1) I did it, (2) It kept DH & DSon from cuttin' on the tile that was already laid, (3) It was an old mat anyway & a good excuse ta git another one!

Again Thanks so much for all of your support!
