I agree......I love easy patterns made with fabulous fabrics. Maybe a grey, white and turquoise color scheme? Or look at the cute kids fabrics out there right now....there are some great ones! Maybe a big, chunky star????

I believe the most recent pattern from Connecting Threads that I used is on sale...it's called EVERY WHICH WAY with red, teal, grey and a grey/blue fabric variation with navy blue background material. The fabric was generous and made up in a snap...it was all flannel and so snuggly.....It made a nice size and there was plenty of left over material for another quilt in a different pattern. I gifted that quilt to a friends first grandchild, which was a boy, and they were thrilled with it!!

I made an I Spy quilt for the neighbor girl and she is two now and loves playing "I Spy". It is rewarding to see something you planned, made, gave and see how it is supposed to work.....and it does. I spy a dragon fly. Ta Da!!!! Edie

Im thinking of making him a small taggy blanket (maybe 1.5ft x 1.5ft) with the letter E in fancy script appliqued on the front.

I always try to find something old which belonged to the babys mum or dad: have a look at my avartar, the middle belonged to a t-shirt my daughter painted when she was a little girl!!!

Clover83, I have made countless taggies and parents tell me it's baby's favorite The first ones I made out of flannel but decided to use fleece. they seem to hold up better than flannel. Oh, I only put ribbons on two sides of the taggies. My granddaughter suggested that for her daughter.

Cars, trucks, airplanes. There are easy blocks with all of these, or you could choose strips of fabric with boy type toys.

I just finished a flannel bow tie quilt for my niece's baby boy. It was so cute and soft. I used a layer cake called Duck Duck Goose from Missouri Quilt. I wish I had pictures but it went out to be quilted- maybe when I get it back. Good luck with what ever you choose. When are you due?
