Default Any Good Quilt Mystery BOMs for 2014?

Hi All -- just wondering if any of you have signed up for, or are looking into doing a Mystery BOM for 2014? If so, what do you look for when trying to decide? I think it probably takes some guts, and also a little bit of knowledge of the quilt shop you are dealing with, but I'll bet there's other things to consider. It's all such a mystery ...

This sounds fun!! I hope Craftsy does another BOM for 2014. Time will tell I suppose.

I recently signed up to do Quiltmania's 2014 Di Ford mystery quilt through Homestead Hearth's BOM program. Mystery quilts are not usually my thing, but, I love Di Ford and Quiltmania, so I'm going for it.

Planet Patchwork does a New Year's MQ, but it is a one-day thing, not a BOM. Bonnie Hunter just started one. I think she just sent out Clue #2.

I am doing the 2014 Fat Quarter Shop Mystery BOM. It actually started several months ago. I have signed up for Amy Gibson's BOM for 2014. If Craftsy has a 2014 BOM, I will make it. This year, one of the BOMs that I have really enjoyed is the Scrappy BOM at www.rebeccamaedesigns.com. If another mystery BOM is offered there, it will make my "to do" list. I have learned so much from doing BOMs. I make blocks I would never have tried otherwise and find that I can make blocks that I thought would be impossible for me.

I think one of the main things is to ensure is that the shop that is running your mystery BOM has notoriously good quality fabrics, and that is what they'll be using.

Also, make sure that the ability level fits you, and if you are wanting to complete your block each month, that you actually have the time set aside to do it I know that I am generally over-ambitious ... Hope this helps!
