    Hi,
I have been going away from batiks and brights, and going toward more modern, clean looks, like grey, black and white, or grey, black, white and yellow. I made a quilt with Laurie Wisbrun's fabrics (now out of stock) and I just love the clean look and lines!!! I have always been pretty classic in my tastes,

Good question. I am trying to limit how much I expand my stash. I usually only buy for finishing and that is usually traditional. I did buy one of those cakes of brights to try something modern. Good time of year for that. I don't like to include in my stash some of everything cause that gets confusing and I am feeling overwhelmed as it is. So I buy small bundles for specific projects of something unusual for me. I regularly collect a bit of 30's. a bigger bit of batiks and 1800's and mostly traditional that I want to steer away from/ use up (that will take 8 more years). Did I make any sense?

Trying to thin out the stash by using it up...but I could be persuaded to buy more if there were more pre-cut batik packages in blue/teal : )

Java batiks from the Netherlands. Retail price is out of this world, but I went to a special fabric show last month and bought a six yard piece for a great discount.

I seem to be all about fabric with words/writing on it and polka dots right now.

For a while when I was still working I was using JoAnn's 50% coupons to buy 2 yard cuts. I can share with my sister that way. But now that I'm really getting into scraps and strings I'm buying more fat quarters. I love the vibrancy of Kaffe Fasset's work so I'm drawn to lots of bright color.
