Default Any quilters on board from Reno Nevada?

Hi everyone. I have just moved from Northwestern Wisconsin to Reno Nevada. I have only been in town for two weeks and still trying to get organized. I would so love to meet some quilters from the area. We are currently renting an apartment on Robb Dr. but are looking for a house. We like it in this area of Reno, mainly because it is so close to our darling Nuggets (Grandkids). My two oldest granddaughters are learning to quilt and we have plans to go to the upcoming quilt show in Carson City and the Expo and Sierra Grand in June.

I don't live in Reno(We just moved to Fallon), but check out the quilt shop called Windy Moon. They probably can give you suggestions on groups in the area. I taught school in Reno for a long time and know the area pretty well, but I just started quilting a couple of years ago while I was living in Wyoming.

Hey, welcome to northern Nevada! It's a great place to live! We're about 90 miles south of Reno, but get up there occasionally.

This Friday and Saturday is the big quilt show in Fallon, at the convention center there, should be a good time.

Another nice quilt shop up there is "Going Batty" just off the freeway in the south part of Reno, and if you get up to the lake, make sure you stop in and see our friends at Fabric Unlimited.

Welcome to this side of the U.S.. Gee you are only about a days (about 8 hours) drive to Sisters Oregon. The Sisters Quilt show is the second Saturday in July. http://www.sistersoutdoorquiltshow.org/

Hope you find some local quilting buddies.

This site lists two guilds in Reno - http://www.quiltguilds.com/nevada.htm
Guilds are a wonderful way to meet new people when you move.
