I have a family relative living in Sorrento and would like to learn how to quilt, does any of you know any quilters in Italy that she would be able to get some feed back on how to start quilting. She's loves sewing and embrodery, she does fantastic work and now she's want to learn quilting
    Thanks

WOW, all my grandparents came from Italy and not one of them quilted !!!
I got the impression that it wasn't big there. My one Gram did embroidery but that's it. I'm the only quilter in my large Italian family :D

I know we have a board member from Milan but that is quite a ways from Sorrento. Don't know if I would get much quilting done if I lived in such a beautiful part of the world. :P

Anyway I just did a quick google search using quilt shops in Sorrento Italy and got a hit to this page. Maybe she can seek out the shops near her for guidance and quilting friends.

thanks for your reply, I will forward the information to her and I will also ask her to join this board, I'm sure she'll get help as it's such a great place to exchange and members are all willing to give some of their free time to help someone
    thanks again

Sorrento is one of the most beautiful places in the world but keep in mind that the winter season even though it's not cold like here, it's a rainy season with long humid nights. It rains almost every day. Therefore it's always nice to have a hobby and quilting is a very good choice.

If you go to User List on top and type in your search where it says Search by Location all members from Italy will show up. Ann

If you go to User List above and do a search by location, we actually have three quilters in Italy. My 13 year old DD is going to Sorrento next June with her BFF and family. I could send her some fat quarters! How is her English?
