Well, I'm keeping to my resolution to try new techniques. I've just done two blocks of reverse applique. One with traditional hand stitching and one with satin stitch applique. Yay!

After having son and DIL living with us in my sewing room for almost a year--I can finally get my STUFF back in. Luckily I can clean at the same time and organize, so this could work out quite well!!

I need to do that two, try new stuff, patterns, techniques, etc. I won't grow as a quilter unless I try new stuff.

To work on my free motion quilting. Glad to read that I am not the only one having difficulty mastering the technique.

to make and donate at least one lap sized quilt a month to donate to a local shelter for domestic violence in my area. with the Elna 7300 Santa brought this should be easier to do.. hope to make more then that but at least 1 a month is a reasonable feat I hope.

My dad and I are collaborating on our first ever art quilt this year. He is an amazing artist, and he spent the first day of the new year perfecting the design for our quilt. Now my job is to hand applique the entire wall hanging, the design of which is almost 32 inches square and has over 200 pieces. I am daunted by the project, but keep telling myself "just one piece at a time" over and over. My goal is to finish it before the year is ending, and hopefully a lot sooner. I'll eventually post pictures of my progress.

    I have two:
    1) finish up one UFO a month.
    2) create at least one Christmas present a month.
