Use the strip twist pattern from Quitville, Bonnie makes the neatest scrappy patterns. http://www.quiltville.com/striptwist.shtml I am currently doing one for a customer out of her GM,DM and her family's clothing.This is my favorite pattern for clothing use. Happy sewing.

Than you so much ladies. I got motivated last night and cut up the clothing. I have done Bonnie Hunter's method many times with scraps. I haven't done the strip twist. I don't have many 18" pieces but guess I could sew smaller lengths together.
I like all of your ideas and hadn't thought of any of them.
