Default Any tips for FMQ on a 301A?

I've been doing all my free motion quilting on my mom's old Singer and it's almost perfect except.....
when I let off the accelerator the needle keeps going for a little while. It coasts to a stop. Not like a newer machine that stops immediately. Any tips for that problem?

No...this is how vintage machines work. You need to just live with it and or work with it some how.

There's a yahoo group called Vintage Singers that can answer all your questions about the 301.
