Default Any use Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Black Batting?

Connecting Threads has it on sale for $14.69 (90" X 108").

I have my Asian quilt done and got in the black/gold backing fabric from Fabric Shack - gorgeous fabric and thought it might be a good idea to use black batting just incase anything pokes through.

Anyone have experience with this batting?

I have several rolls of it bought on sale but haven't used it yet.

Thanks. I just got back from Joann's and was surprised at how expensive batting was compared to buying a bolt online. Don't have the space for the bolt. Got to looking online and saw the Heirlooms brand and was wondering about it.

I used it on DH's pepper quilt. It worked fine and seems to be a little thicker than the regular Hobbs batting. It may not be, just seems like his quilt is heavier. It's been washed several times and has held up well.

Hobbs 80/20 is what I use and I like it just fine. I have no problems with it; doesn't poke through, etc. I recommend it.

Does not poke through! Yea! That's what I wanted to hear!

Is it thicker than Warm and Natural?

My experience is that is a bit thicker than Warm and Natural.

I used it in my daughters graduation quilt since it was a black background and brights and backed it with black minky. Had my longarm gal quilt it and turned out beautiful.

I only use high loft poly batting and have wished they would make black too. I find all the others are thinner than I like.

I've used the black hobbs batting a number of times- including with my wool hand appliqued 'backyard gathering' quilt. it is a nice batting- and comes in handy when making black quilts.
