I did one like that ON PURPOSE as was making a candy cane effect. Dunster is right, I was just doing a table topper and those seams were a killer. I can't imagine doing a whole quilt like that. Matter of fact, the quilt I am doing right now is bound that way, but I am not going to do it as the pattern instructs. Just too hard on the fingers and so many thicknesses in places.

I agree with those that say to toss it in into your scraps pile and either re cut if you have enough fabric or find some more fabric or choose a different binding....

I have used a pieced border intentionally (small pieces) and was very pleased with the result. Just remember to iron the seams OPEN to reduce the bulk

My bad. Didn't mean to lead you astray. See, I told you I wasn't smart. Wonder if I can fix the title?

We have all made the "stupid" mistake. I hate it when that happens, especially when it feels fabric was wasted.

You know, whenever I make a careless mistake, I always tell myself, "Well, I won't do THAT again!" All mistakes are a learning experience, so please don't let it get you down on yourself.
