A friend of mine just saw the felted wool stockings I'm making for my family for Christmas and suggested that I sell things on Etsy. (Etsy is a website for selling/buying handmade items.)

Has anyone here tried selling quilts or other things on Etsy? How about buying? Just wondering how your experience has gone . . . .

I know people who sell on Esty and they do very well. I have purchased on Esty oop patterns and other items and I have never had a bad experience.

I have a few of my painted tile trivets for sale on etsy (you can search for quiltzyx), but so far, my only customer has been my sister! lol Then again, I haven't really done much "merchandising" either. I have also bought some beads from one of the vendors there & she was a dream to buy from.
The fees are reasonable to post things - something like 30 cents for 90 days for each item. So it isn't too bad if you want to try it out. They have lots of tutorials & information on how to sell your stuff too...one of these days I will take the time to figure it all out! :D

I found it difficult to find anything on Etsy. There is so much stuff! I think I read that only the top sellers are easy to find, or people who already have a name you can search on. Was thinking of having my daughter sell some of her drawings on Etsy but, when I looked at the drawings, I saw that there were hundreds and hundreds there already; hers would be lost in the crowd.

I have a few things on Etsy, very inexpensive to post. I have bought things from Etsy, and like the forum.
