What I did this year was to buy a digital subscription to this one: http://www.quiltersworld.com/ it's great as I don't feel guilty by throwing half a Brazilian tree forest away, and it's reasonably priced.
I did this too, the biggest advantage is that you can go back through two years of archives. Due to puter problems, I eventually went through and printed out all the ones that interest me. Have had issues with my download files disappearing when my hard drive went bad. I like this mag because they have quite a few for beginners. While I like to think myself an experienced quilter, I'm impatient and I want to get the current project done before I start another, so I want them to go quickly.

I am with you guys... use to love the magazine and now they just seem to be duplicating patterns with different fabric lines....

I'm bored with them, too. Sometimes I'll find quilts or blocks I've seen before with a different name. Like the one I just got had one where it was just made up Ohio Stars and Square in a Square. I swear I've seen something like it somewhere before. But they gave it a fancy name: "Stars of Josie". It got its name from the fabric collection used in the quilt, the Josephine collection by Skipping Stones Studio. I've noticed a lot of "quilt designs" featured in magazines or patterns are old designs with new fabric lines. Boring!

I agree - I'm not renewing my subscriptions again. Seems like they isn't any thing different.
